1- IPOTETICO APPRODO

… pensando al Titanic

Jack arrivò a scompigliare
giorni sempre uguali
ribaltando le rotte
di viaggi mentali.
Non fu per Rose
incontro bramato
eppure attorno alle mura
lui si fece fossato,
ancora di salvataggio,
cuscinetto frangiflutti,
piano di emergenza,
interlocutore solidale,
quasi un uomo normale.
Rose non sa nuotare
ma è attratta dal mare,
ha freddo dentro
e teme che il fuoco
possa fare centro.
Rose è ferma sulla polena
delle sue paure,
non ha più meta
né affidabile baricentro
ma vuole credere che
il suo Jack virtuale
condivida un affetto reale.
Jack e Rose non si ritroveranno
nel quotidiano incedere
di pianeti distanti,
ma le loro anime pellegrine
si riconoscono in un ipotetico approdo
al margine di lustrini e vetrine,
sconosciuto ai naufraghi
e a tutti i naviganti.

1-HYPOTHETICAL LANDING

… Thinking of the Titanic

Jack got and he messed up
days that were always the same
rolling the routes
of mental journeys.
It was not for Rose
wanted meeting
Yet around the walls
He became the ditch,
her lifeline,
her bearing breakwater,
an emergency plan,
a solidal interlocutor,
almost a normal man.
Rose can not swim
But she is attracted by the sea,
she’s cold inside
and she fears that the fire
could do the center.
Rose is standing on the pole
Of her fears,
she has no more arrival
Nor reliable barycentre
But she wants to believe that
her virtual Jack
could feel a real affection.
Jack and Rose will not meet again
In the daily walk
Of distant planets,
But their pilgrim souls
recognize themselves in a hypothetical landing
At the edge of glittering and shop windows
Unknown to shipwrecks
and to all sailors.

Concentriche come onde nello stagno,
irregolari vibrazioni acustiche
producono tsunami nella mia memoria.

2-YOUR VOICE IN COUNTERSONG

In a song out of time I’ve heard drafts of you,
And the memories came to me
In the atavic sound of a gong.
On the creaking echo of a metal I stopped
And I recognized your voice in countersong.
They are daughters of the resentment… our words…
But they burst
Into my painful and without appeal silences.
Concentric waves in the pond,
irregular acoustic vibrations
They produce tsunamis in my memory.

improvvisa corazza rimediai
per non concedere al cuore
vane attese o subdole speranze.

3-THE PLAN B

I shined of autonomous light
Towards the periphery of your gaze,
while I rebelled at the thought
Of an irrational feeling.
I passed trough miles of asphalt
To anchor my footstep on the ground,
Gulping down my doubts not to fly elsewhere
And then crashing into the ground.
Into a creed and a faded color
Suddenly I repaired as they were a shell
Not to give to the heart
Vain expectations or insidious hopes.
I did not consider the plan b
What the soul pursues according its will,
she sees you as a landing
In the endless meanders of a hug.
In the latitudes of your arms
I will rest.

4-DUETTO INDISSOLUBILE

(storia di una nonna e una bambina)

Era là… acciambellata ai suoi piedi
in ascolto partecipe
annotando quelle rune d’autunno
come fosse vangelo.
Intuiva il privilegio dell’oralità
serbando nello scrigno degli esempi
il dire e il fare,
il pane che lievita incontri,
le conserve ribollenti amore.
Si accanì la sorte
sulla nonna e la bambina,
duetto indissolubile.
L’anziana guida divenne
piccolo pulcino senza piume
bisognoso di passi felpati
che attutissero la corsa
di cellule impazzite.
La bambina si mutò in chioccia
covando soluzioni alternative
amando, leggendo, ricordando.

4-INDISSOLUBLE DUET

(Story of a grandmother and a little girl)

She was there... clenched at her feet
in a participate listening
Recording those autumnal runes
As they were the gospel.
She guessed the privilege of orality
Keeping in the precious casket
The words and the deeds,
The bread that leavens meetings,
The canned which boiling love.
destiny raged upon
the grandmother and the little girl,
Indissoluble duet.
The old hen became
Little chick without feathers
Needing soft steps
Which dampened the race
Of crazy cells.
The little girl turned to hen
Providing alternative solutions
To repent the plumage
And to polish the wings of the wounded grandmother.
Some flights do not obey their trajectory.
Invoking the search
you can satisfy life
Preventing maladies
To turn into tyrants
This lesson imparted the chick...
The little girl explained it for the whole hive
Loving, reading, remembering.

5-AL CIPPO DI SABBIUNO DI PIANO (Bologna)

Li ho portati i miei studenti
in gabbia come uccelli.
36 furono i caduti in quel 14 ottobre del’44
ma 34 i nomi riportati
perché del polacco e del tedesco
i documenti non furon ritrovati,
s’erano uniti alla settima brigata
e al distaccamento di Franchini;
così ora sanno i miei bambini

5-AT THE MEMORIAL OF SABBIUNO PLAN (Bologna)

I brought there my students
to the memorial of Sabbiuno Plan
To read those 34 names
Holding us by the hand.
Arno and Vanes were with us
To say several times
We were not heroes,
There were neither good nor bad,
There was war
and it was urgent to defend our land.
They narrated the courage of Romagna
Franco Franchini’s battle name
When he attacked the Guernelli farmhouse
To free caged companions as birds.
36 were fallen on that October 14, 1944.
but 34 were the names listed
Because of Polish and of the German
The documents were not found,
They had joined the seventh brigade
And Franchini’s detachment;
So now my kids know
To whom the country school is headed.

6-LA ROTAIA PIGRA

(sull’incidente ferroviario in Puglia luglio 2016)

Immutato scorcio
d’arco obliquo
in un percorso
circolare e tortuoso
si tinse di rosso all’improvviso.
Batteva il tempo
la rotaia pigra
in un incedere
senza logica alcuna
senza meta prevista
se non la tangibile empatia
dei segni d’acqua
e la loro ostinata ricerca d’intensità
imprigionata in una normalità agognata
e a volte ripudiata.
Batteva il tempo
la rotaia pigra
tra quesiti esistenziali
e indomiti perché
senza soffocare
irrazionali voglie
e immotivati sguardi,
curiosità remote
e intuizioni accidentali.
Batteva il tempo
la rotaia pigra
finché stridula frenò
su un compromesso.

6-THE LAZY RIAL

(about a rail accident happened in Puglia, on July 2016)

Unchanged glimpse
Of oblique bow
On a circular and tortuous path
She suddenly was painted with red.
It beat the time
The lazy rail
In a walking
Without any logic
Without any intended purpose
If not the tangible empathy
Of water signs
And their obstinate search for intensity
Imprisoned in a craved normality
And sometimes repudiated.
It beat the time
The lazy rail
Among existential questions
And indomitable questions
Without choking
Irrational cravings
And immature looks,
Remote curiosity
And accidental insights.
It beat the time
The lazy rail
Until she put the brakes
On a compromise.

aspettativa disattesa,
precoce o tardivo intervento,
compromessa plasticità cerebrale,
disturbo dello spettro.
Davide è il tuo nome
il bambino che ama il dettaglio…
Indosserò il tuo sguardo,
ascolterò la tua confusa stereotipia,
scenderò a incrociare l’oggetto che ti attrae
per accorciare la distanza
che ti tiene relegato in una stanza.

7-DAVID IS YOUR NAME

(Poem dedicated to a child with autism)

Where did your gaze stop David?
You fell on a detail in order not to see the whole.
It is not easy to decipher
the compass of the senses
in the chaos of social stimuli.
And how will I support the reward
of that troublesome biology ?
To observe the failure
in the connection among your sensory abilities
it is an enormous effort for us,
the “so-called normal ones”.
To compensate with gestures
to a shared attention,
to take you to clarify a request,
these are compelling purposes in my head.
David is your name,
you’re not for me a diagnoses
or a variant or a flaw of genetic architecture,
a disregarded expectation,
an early or late intervention,
an impaired brain plasticity,
a spectrum disorder.
David is your name
the child who loves the detail. .
I’ll wear your look,
I ‘ll listen to your confused stereotypy
I’ll go down to cross the object that attracts you
so as to shorten the distance
that keeps you confined in a room.

8-IL CORAGGIO DEI PERDENTI

Ha gli occhi grandi Ismael,
la bocca arsa Ikrahm,
voce squillante Aziz.
Sono lontani dal treno del vento,
dal kindertransport inglese
quando la guerra flagellava
l’Europa.
Sono i bambini in cammino
occhi innocenti di oggi,
agnelli di via crucis
per terra e per mare
quelli che vediamo sfilare al tg
noi servi di Caronte,
noi i “civili”
ostaggio dell’indifferenza,
vittime e forse complici
di tanta assuefazione.
Stiamo sul ciglio del sentiero
affollato di mani tese,
noi… stiamo immobili
col braccino nascosto
che non si scomponga
in offerte d’aiuto.
Ha gli occhi grandi Ismael,
la bocca arsa Ikrahm,
voce squillante Aziz.
Frastuono di bombe
nei loro ricordi,
piaghe ai piedi
e geloni alle mani.
Il manganello delle guardie
non risparmia nessuno,
è peggio dell’altalena
delle maree,
sembra la fame dei pescecani.
Miseria, fame, epidemie.
Ismaèl, Ikrahm, Aziz;
partire, restare, tornare
la civile Europa ha inventato
un dispositivo micidiale:
il campo profughi
per farci assuefare
alla diaspora degli innocenti
all’ottusità delle nostre menti
al coraggio senza pari
dei perdenti.

8-THE COURAGE OF THE LOSERS

He has big eyes… Ismael
a parched mouth Ikrahm,
a ringing voice Aziz.
They are far from the train
of the wind
the English Kindertransport
when the war afflicted Europe.
They are the kids on the way
The innocent eyes of today,
the lambs sacrified to the cross
by land and by sea
those we see parading at the tv news
we the servants of Charon,
we”the civilians”
we hostage of indifference,
victims and possibly accomplices
of a similar addiction..
We are on the edge of the path
crowded with outstretched hands,
we... we are motionless
with our hidden little arms
that do not essay
to offer any help.
He has big eyes… Ismael
a parched mouth Ikrahm,
a ringing voice Aziz.
Din of bombs
in their memories,
at the foot sores
chilblains and hands.
The baton of the guards
spares no one,
It is worse than the swing
of the tides,
It seems the hunger of sharks.
Poverty, famine, epidemics.
Ismael, Ikrahm, Aziz;
To go, to stay, to come back
The civilized Europe has invented
a deadly device:
the refugee camp
to make us accustom
to the diaspora of the Lambs
to the obtuseness of our minds
to the unmathed courage
of the losers.

9-FIGLI DI UN DIO MINORE

Dio minore…
Chiamiamolo così
o forse despota del mare
suona meglio?
Vite mandate al macello.
Sogni che non sapevano
nuotare,
paure ataviche incatenate
ai piedi spinsero a fondo
l’acceleratore
sull’infausto fato
e una zavorra antica.
Alla miseria e alla fame
si unì il tradimento
che vi lasciò orfani
a centinaia
in un risucchiato gorgo
di putrido blu.
Orfana anche io
di 900 fratelli,
figlia unica
di quello stesso Dio…

9-SONS OF A MINOR GOD

Minor god…
Let’s call Him so
Or perhaps despot of the sea
It sounds better?
Screw sent to the slaughterhouse.
Dreams that cannot swim,
Chained atavistic fears
to his feet pushed deeply
on the accelerator
On the unfair fate
And on the ancient ballast.
The betrayal joined
To poverty and hunger
and it left you orphans
in a hundred
Into a sucked vortex
Of blue-tailed.
Orphan me too
without 900 brothers,
only daughter
of the same God…

10-NAWAL, LA REGINA DEL MOLO

La chiamano l’angelo dei clandestini
chè vigila sull’approdo
di adulti e bambini.
Lei avvisa la guardia costiera
prima che imperversi la bufera.
Lei indirizza i migranti
a guardarsi dai tanti
che cercano manovalanza
fingendosi santi.
li protegge tutti
dall’ inganno e dal dolo.

Dedicata a Nawal Soufi

10-NAWAL, THE QUEEN OF THE PIER

They call her the angel of illegal migrants.
She supervises on the landfall
of adults and children.
She warns the coastguard
before the storm is raging.
She tells migrants to watch their backs
from those looking for laborers
pretending to be saints.
Nawal is thin and beautiful
among all her sisters,
the night helmsmen are afraid of her,
daytime patrons avoid her.
Nawal has a headkerchief on her head
and a very grievous competence.
She feeds and rigs out the brothers of the sea,
urging them not to stumble in evil.
Nawal is tiny and she has the witty expression,
a project in her mind and no fear in her heart.
Nawal is the queen of the pier,
She protects them all by deceit and malice.

Dedicated to Nawal Soufi

11-ÁMAME DIOS

Versión en español: Elisabetta Bagli

Ámame en mi imperfección
y con mis errores.
Ámame en la misteriosa inquietud
que envuelve mis raíces.
Ámame Dios
con todo lo bueno que tengo
y aún más con mis desaciertos;
